A Group of Nashville Female Leaders Launch Free Platform Designed to Help Women Create Healthier Relationships with Money

Wealth of a Woman launches in concurrence with the 50th anniversary of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 28, 2024) — Fifty years ago today, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) was signed into law, allowing women to receive equal rights when obtaining credit. To commemorate this historical legislation, President of Waddell & Associates Nashville and Senior Wealth Strategist Teresa J.W. Bailey and Lauren Reed Williams, owner of nationally awarded public relations firm REED, launched Wealth of a Woman, a grassroots storytelling initiative designed to help women make financial choices that are aligned with their values.

The innovative platform and lifestyle brand encourages education and conversation around female finances and the history behind the ECOA of 1974 and Coverture Law. Understanding the intricate and lasting impact of female financial dependency is the driving factor behind the creation of the free resources that have been curated to empower individuals to create healthy and sustainable financial relationships and connect with like-minded individuals.

“Throughout my 20 years as a financial advisor, I have witnessed the longstanding effects of financial trauma in my female clients,” shares Bailey. “As women, entrepreneurs and mothers, we know it is time for us to create a means to change, driven by some of the industry’s most sought-after individuals, that is available to everyone.”

Williams and Bailey have hand-crafted resources for further education on women’s most coveted financial topics, partnering with industry experts such as Pat Shea, Victoria Herrera and Katie Gustafson. These resources include a free digital course curated to guide the user in self-reflection and strategic, proactive planning, financial education and better women’s relationships with wealth

The platform will also offer a “Bring Back the Dinner Party – But Make it Taboo” dinner party kit to create a space for women in the conversation around wealth and personal finance.

“Wealth of a Woman is more than an external conversation and fight for financial growth amongst women,” says Williams. “We wanted to create an accessible tool for personal and individual reflection and development, allowing women to share their stories and break the taboo associated with financial anxiety.”

By 2030, women will own the majority of the world’s investible wealth. Wealth of a Woman was crafted to support the minds and hands inheriting the shifting funds.
