Leiper’s Fork Lawn Chair Theatre

Break out your blankets and lawn chairs! Jailhouse Industrys proudly presents movies at its Lawn Chair Theatre, located in downtown Leiper’s Fork. If you are looking for FREE G-rated movies in a setting that offers a taste of the past, then you should definitely check out Leiper’s Fork Lawn Chair Theatre.

“It’s a fun for the whole family, for people of all ages, 3-88,” says co-founder, Larry Montgomery. “Everyone has a good time.”

The movies are shown on an old gazebo adorned with a large screen and begin at dusk on Friday and Saturday evenings – from May through September. Friday evening is Kid’s Night and date night, but children are welcome on Saturdays for the classics.

“Children come on Saturday nights as well and have so much fun,” Montgomery says. “There’s a little game area for them to play and entertain themselves, which we think is great – we’re glad everyone can come out and have fun on both nights.”

The movies kick off on Friday, May 4, with “The Story of Seabiscuit” and the classic “Seabiscuit” on Saturday, May 5. Kid’s Night on Friday is filled to the brim with childhood favorites like “Sword in the Stone,” “Pollyanna” and “Charlotte’s Web,” while the classics on Saturday are primarily old noteworthy films such as “Out of Past,”  “Inherit the Wind,” “Singing in the Rain” and “Operation Petticoat.”

Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs, then soak in the ambiance of this amazing outdoor theatre. Also enjoy their on-site concession stand that offers hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts and nachos for practically nothing.
