Moore Elementary dedicates classroom

Moore Elementary School dedicated its new outdoor classroom pavilion in grand style recently with a live band, performers and balloon artists. The pavilion was dedicated in honor of the family who donated the land on which the school is built to the Franklin Special School District, Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Moore.

Mr. Moore’s son, Robert Moore Jr., sits on the school’s Advisory Council, and recognized the school community’s desire to have a covered pavilion area. He generously donated the funds for the project and dedicated it to his parents, R.N. and Catherine Moore. A plaque will be mounted on the pavilion with the inscription, "Given in memory of R.N. and Catherine Moore by Robert N. Moore, Jr., 2007".

Moore Elementary School opened in 1990 and an Advisory Council was created and continues to meet in order to help guide the administrators as building-level decisions are made.  Mr. Moore has continued to be a part of the Advisory Council for over 15 years and attends regularly monthly meetings.

Mr. Moore is one of the developers of the neighborhood immediately adjacent to Moore Elementary, called Moore’s Landing.
