2007 SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION BEGINS AT PARKS AND RECREATION
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s summer camps are jumping into an exciting 2007 season!  Themed, “Discovery Cove”, this 7 week, day-camp of adventure, education, athletics, creativity and entertainment is offered Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., June 4through July 20 (no camp on July 4^th) for youth ages 5 to 12. (Children must be 6 by Sept. 30, 2007 and cannot be 13 before June 4, 2007.) 

The WCPR Summer Camp program has a successful track record of more than twenty years and is the Programming Division’s most labor-intensive accomplishment of the year.  Fully staffed camps are held at eight elementary schools throughout the county to accommodate an average of 1,400 participating children. Parents are able to choose the camp location most convenient for them from Heritage, Lipscomb, Crockett, Grassland, Hunter’s Bend, Sunset, Trinity and Westwood campuses. 

All camp sign-ups are held at the Franklin Recreation Complex (with one  exception—the Westwood Camp registration is held at the Fairview Recreation Complex for your convenience). There are various registration dates to coordinate with the school/camp location of the parent’s choice:  Registration for the Heritage and Lipscomb sites is held on Monday, May 7 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (or until full)                                                   

Registration for Crockett, Grassland, Hunters Bend, Sunset and Trinity (including Heritage and Lipscomb if available) is held on Wednesday, May 9Friday, May 11 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (or until full).

Final registration for any remaining camp openings at all seven sites is held on Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or until full)

Fairview:  Registration for the Westwood camp site will take place at the Fairview Recreation Complex on Tuesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; as well as Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

No camp registration will take place after May 12^th.

Camp fees are $15.00 per day, per child with a one-time registration fee of $25.00 each.  Parents are required to pay for at least three days of camp fees at the time of registration.  Campers may then pay as they go, may purchase multi-day units or “block days” to use whenever they wish, or may receive a discount and purchase the entire seven weeks at $450.00 for the first camper (a savings of $60.00) and $400.00 for each additional camper (an extra savings of $50.00).  Financial assistance is available, if needed, for Williamson County residents or Williamson County Government employees.  Call 790-5719, ext. 30 to request a Financial Aid application.  The deadline for applications is Wednesday, April 25.
