Primarily, the JLN focuses on issues in the areas of abuse and neglect, children and families at risk, educational disadvantage, health, voluntarism and quality of life. JLN has 22 community partner agencies where they are currently placing JLN volunteers, and an additional 70 charitable affiliates with whom they collaborate on an ongoing basis. While the dinners are invitation only, the general public can help support the JLN and all of its benefiting organizations by purchasing the “Notably Nashville” cookbook.

Silvia says it’s one of the best cookbooks because “these are delicious, easy southern recipes.” Some recipes of note are Minnie Pearl’s chess pie recipe, with her signature and Belle Meade eatery, Picnic Café’s famous cheese wafers. Silvia says she loves the cookbook because there are “not tons of ingredients, it’s easy and absolutely delicious.” She adds “you don’t have to be Julia Childs to cook deliciously.”
