Harpeth Conservancy and Brentwood Noon Rotary Club Host 20th Annual Little Harpeth River Clean Up
Brentwood, TN – January 2026 – Harpeth Conservancy, in partnership with the Brentwood Noon Rotary Club, is proud to announce the 20th Annual Little Harpeth River Clean Up, a pivotal community effort to restore and protect the health and natural beauty of the Little Harpeth River. Scheduled for Saturday, January, 31, 2026, registrants will meet at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library before splitting up into groups to cover the 10-mile stretch of the river that flows through Brentwood, section by section.
The Little Harpeth River has been an integral part of Brentwood’s history and ecology, tracing its importance back thousands of years to the region’s first Native American settlements. Today, it continues to serve as a vital resource for the community and an essential contributor to the health of waterways downstream, including the Harpeth River.
The cleanup event, originally launched in 2006 by the Brentwood Noon Rotary Club, has grown to become a cornerstone of environmental stewardship in the area. Each year, volunteers work together to remove litter and debris from over 10 miles of riverbanks, making a direct impact on the health and sustainability of the Little Harpeth River. This year’s event marks an exciting milestone as Harpeth Conservancy formally joins the Brentwood Noon Rotary Club’s incredible, long- standing efforts in a partnership to continue and deepen the impact of this annual event.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026 (In the event of inclement weather, February 7, will serve as the back up date for the event)
- Location: Volunteers will gather at the Brentwood Library (Concord Road & Knox Valley Drive)
- Time: Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.; cleanup starts at 9:00 a.m.
- Provided: Light breakfast, trash bags, safety vests, and cleanup tools provided courtesy of community partners: Keep Williamson Beautiful, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Brentwood.
The river will be divided into 12 manageable sections, allowing teams of volunteers to target specific areas along its winding course. Civic groups, businesses, scout troops, neighborhood HOAs, and all interested community members are encouraged to join. Rotarians and Harpeth Conservancy staff will be on-site to coordinate logistics and ensure proper disposal of collected debris.
This year’s cleanup offers a unique opportunity for the community to reflect on the progress made over the past two decades while renewing its commitment to safeguarding the Little Harpeth River for generations to come.
Patrick Wright, the current lead organizer from the Brentwood Noon Rotary Club, emphasizes the importance of this partnership and the collective effort of volunteers.
“I can think of no better way to continue to care for this vital natural resource than to partner more fully with Harpeth Conservancy whose mission is to protect and preserve our beautiful waterways. This also aligns with Rotary’s motto of ‘Service above Self’ as together we give back for the betterment of our community.”
“The 20th Annual Little Harpeth River Clean Up is an incredible opportunity to clean up our river, but it’s also a celebration of this community’s spirit and dedication to environmental stewardship,” said Marie Campbell, Community Engagement Director for Harpeth Conservancy. “We’re honored to carry this legacy forward in partnership with the Brentwood Noon Rotary Club.”
Together, let’s make this year’s cleanup the most impactful yet. Press is invited to attend the event and arrangements can be made for interviews with various group leaders.
