Franklin Elementary’s Foster Named a 2026 Extraordinary Educator
Franklin, TN —Franklin Special District (FSD) is proud to announce that Molly Foster, a third-grade teacher at Franklin Elementary, has been selected by Curriculum Associates as a member of its 2026 class of Extraordinary Educators. This national program celebrates and connects teachers who go above and beyond for their students and demonstrate exceptional impact in the classroom.
The Extraordinary Educators program recognizes outstanding teachers across the country for best-in-class use of i-Ready, a computer program that students use to take short tests and practice skills. It helps teachers understand what each child knows and needs, so students receive the right support in math and reading. Selected educators are recognized not only for their strong implementation of these tools but also for the meaningful learning environments they create for students. Honorees foster growth and achievement through formal assessments, lead innovative engagement strategies, uphold high expectations for student success, and develop equitable classrooms where every learner is supported.
“Molly Foster’s commitment to student growth, her thoughtful use of data to guide instruction, and the way she makes learning engaging and inclusive every day make her a perfect candidate for this prestigious honor,” said FSD Director of Schools Dr. David Snowden.
Foster said she is eager to learn from fellow honorees and bring new ideas back to her students. “I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside such inspiring educators and leaders, and I’m excited to keep growing in my practice through this experience. I appreciate the support from Franklin Special District and Curriculum Associates, and I’m honored to represent FSD through this work.”
As a 2026 Extraordinary Educator, Foster will gain access to a nationwide network of teachers to collaborate, share ideas, and develop new strategies to speed up learning for all students. She is also invited to participate in and present at the Extraordinary Educators National Leadership Summit in July 2026, where educators from across the country gather to showcase innovative practices and celebrate instructional excellence.
Foster’s recognition places her among a select group of educators nationwide and reflects the strong teaching and learning happening across FSD classrooms.
