FSD’s Blair Named to TSBA Board of Directors

Franklin, TN — The Franklin Special District (FSD) announces that Board of Education member Robert Blair has been selected to serve on the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) 2026 Board of Directors, following the association’s announcement during the closing session of the TSBA Annual Convention on November 8, 2025. A statewide, nonprofit federation of Tennessee’s local school boards, TSBA’s mission is to assist boards in effectively governing school districts by providing training, advocacy, policy support, and a unified voice for public education.

Mr. Blair has served on the FSD Board of Education since 2003 and has held leadership roles, including Board Chair, since 2020. He is a TSBA Level V Master School Board Member (earned in 2011) and was named to the TSBA All-Tennessee School Board in 2016. He was also recognized as Tennessee’s 2023–2024 School Board Member of the Year, reflecting his long-standing commitment to student-focused governance and continuous professional learning.

In addition to his education leadership, Mr. Blair is known for extensive civic involvement. He received the Caroline J. Cross Award from Leadership Franklin in 2022 and has supported numerous community organizations, including Leadership Franklin, Youth Leadership Franklin, My Friend’s House, WAVES, the Boys & Girls Club of Franklin/Williamson County, and Franklin Tomorrow.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve on the TSBA Board of Directors and to work with board leaders across the state,” Blair said. “I’m proud to represent Franklin and FSD, and I’m looking forward to teaming up with my colleagues across the state to support public schools.”

Franklin Special District is a prekindergarten through eighth-grade public school district serving the families of historic Franklin, Tennessee, in eight schools.
