The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County Announces Record High Attendance at Dickens of a Christmas
The event took place on December 14 and 15, and welcomed 152,000 visitors; a record number for any Downtown Franklin festival
FRANKLIN, TN – The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, announces today that Dickens of a Christmas saw over 150,000 visitors, breaking the record of attendance for any of the Foundation’s popular Downtown Franklin festivals which also includes Main Street Festival and Pumpkin Festival. The festival is presented by Wilson Bank & Trust, and is one of three Downtown events hosted by the organization.
“We are thrilled with the outpouring of support and enthusiasm for this year’s Dickens of a Christmas,” said Bari Beasley, President, and CEO of the Heritage Foundation. “We saw a record high number of guests, our community’s spirits have never been higher. None of this would be possible without our event partners, loyal supporters, and donors.”
A variety of Dickens characters filled the streets of Downtown Franklin including the nefarious Fagin from Oliver Twist; Jacob Marley, Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the rest of the Cratchit family from A Christmas Carol; and Victorian Father and Mother Christmas. Crowds were entertained with live music throughout the weekend, in addition to carolers, food & beverage vendors, and fun for the whole family.
The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County hosts three of Downtown Franklin’s most beloved, free events – Pumpkin Fest, Main Street Festival, and Dickens of a Christmas. The organization committed to preserving Williamson County’s architectural, geographic, and cultural heritage relies on support from the community to put on these community events each year.
