Franklin’s next door neighbor has a brand new luxury destination: Southall Farm & Inn is now offering visitors a homestead experience in the heart of Leiper’s Fork.

Set on a working farm dedicated to education and exploration, the Southall property sits on 325 acres of rolling Tennessee hills, with an abundance of pastoral experiences focused on sustainability, luxury and relaxation available onsite.

“Southall today is also more than I could have imagined,” said founder Paul Mishkin. “It started out as a dream to create a place for people to stay and enjoy all the farm has to offer, and today, we’re welcoming guests to a truly immersive experience where remarkable design, earnest hospitality, and unparalleled farm, spa and culinary experiences combine.”

The Farm

The heart of the property is the Farm at Southall, where nearly all amenities, activities and experiences begin. A true working farm with more than 1,000 apple trees, traditional and hydroponic greenhouses, formal kitchen gardens and much more, the team has cultivated a space where a wide variety of ingredients come together to create a true farm-to-table approach. Guests staying at Southall can experience extensive apiary, farm and jammery tours focused on immersive, hands-on educational sessions and demonstrations.

The Food

Southall’s culinary program is led by Executive Chef Andrew Klamar and Senior Vice President of Culinary and Agriculture Tyler Brown. Every dining experience at Southall is focused on ingredients grown, raised and foraged onsite. The all-day dining found at Sojourner serves homemade pastries and fresh-from-the-coop egg specialties—along with lunch and casual dinners. At Southall’s forthcoming signature restaurant, Mary Amelia, the rotating menu will change based on each day’s harvest.

The Inn & Spa

No detail is left unfinished within The Inn, complete with 62 guest rooms and suites and 16 standalone cottages overlooking the property. For ultimate relaxation, each room includes an oversized soaking tub, with some even having their own fireplace. The Spa at Southall elevates the luxury experience through its 15,000 square-foot space, offering a full range of ancient healing therapies, modern treatments and products derived from The Farm.

The Activities

In addition to tours and education offerings at The Farm, guests can also enjoy more than five miles of hiking/biking/running trails through old-growth forest; fishing, canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding on the seven-acre Lake Mishkin, with rentals available including canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, fishing gear, mountain bikes and more. Nestled just a few miles from Music City, live music will also be a regular occurrence.

While Southall is sure to attract travelers seeking to delight in the bucolic charm found in and around Franklin, it also offers an opportunity for locals to enjoy an immersive, relaxing experience close to home. In addition, Southall houses an onsite events center bookable for meetings, weddings and more

Currently, Southall can only be accessed by guests staying on property, with room rates beginning at $839 per night. Southalltn.com
