Williamson County Fair 5k Run/Walk

Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, August 2nd. The run/walk is being held in conjunction with the 2008 Williamson County Fair presented by Tractor Supply Company. Proceeds from the run will benefit the Williamson County 4-H Program which prepares young people to become responsible, capable and involved leaders in the community.

Runners and walkers will gather at the county fair site, the Williamson County Ag Expo Park, 4215 Long Lane on Saturday, August 2nd. Race day registration and t-shirt pickup is from 6:00am to 7:15am. The race begins at 7:30am and promises to be scenic and challenging. Awards will be given to the top 3 overall finishers, top 3 overall masters (age 40 or older), and for age groups: 9 and under, 10 – 14, continued in five year increments up to ages 70 -74, and then ages 75 plus.

Participants may pre-register at www.active.com by July 29th or print an entry form from the fair’s website: www.williamsoncountyfair.org and mail it before July 26th along with a check payable to “Williamson County Fair” to Williamson County Fair 5K, P.O. Box 329, Franklin, TN 37065.  The fee is $20 for early entries, and $25 the day of the race.  No pets are allowed.

The 2008 fair offers convenient, free on-site parking and shuttle buses to the main gate provided by Nissan North America.  Regular admission to the fair is $5 in advance, $6 at the gate. Children ages 6 – 12 are $2 in advance, $3 at the gate. Children ages 5 and under are free. Advance tickets are on sale at ten Middle Tennessee Tractor Supply Company locations and twenty area Daily’s convenience stores through the end of the fair. Nine-day general admission passes are available (at the gate only) for $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 6-12.
