Williamson County Animal Center Hosts Rainbow Bridge Dedication

Local scout builds memorial for Eagle Scout Service Project

Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC) is hosting a Rainbow Bridge dedication ceremony on Monday, December 9 at 12:00 p.m.  Shelter leaders will say a few words followed by the Scout who built and installed the bridge for his Eagle Scout project who will then place the first collar on the bridge.  The bridge is located at the entrance of the wooded walking trail at WCAC as a place for the public to memorialize pets who have passed.  Anyone who would like is encouraged to bring a collar or other item belonging to a pet that has passed to be hung on the bridge.

The Rainbow Bridge poem tells a story about a place where pets gather to play as they wait to reunite with their humans so that they can spend the rest of afterlife together.  Following the ceremony, the memorial is open for use by the public at any time.
