Sustainability Plan

The City of Franklin is preparing to kick-off its vision of making Franklin one of the top 25 sustainable city’s in America by sponsoring a series of five (5), two and one-half hour (2.5) hour workshops to obtain community input and begin building a Sustainability Plan.

This activity will be facilitated by representatives of Johnson Controls, Inc. to identify and prioritize environmental, social, and economic needs that can have the biggest impact on our city and community at large.   The workshop(s) will bring together representatives from across the county to participate in a Sustainability needs assessment.

This is an interactive session, beginning with a discussion of our vision and objectives for the City of Franklin from a sustainability perspective.  By building consensus around critical needs and priorities we hope to have a clearer understanding of what issues are significant to the City of Franklin and where we should begin focusing our attention in terms of further measuring, planning and implementation. The needs will be prioritized and ideas generated on how to best address them.

Please note that each session will hold a maximum of 50 people on a first-come, first serve basis.  Please RSVP to Kathleen Sauseda at kathleens@franklin-gov.com or at (615) 550-6608 for one of the workshops, by August 8, 2008 since we are expecting major community participation.
