The Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Franklin Complex is decking the halls with fun for crafty teens and adults! Join us for creative holiday fun, make special gifts—and jump start your Christmas giving!
Stained glass instructor Julie Westall guides beginner and intermediate crafters in the making of colorful “Stained Glass Christmas Ornaments” to hang on the Christmas tree, as a sun-catcher or to give as a stunning holiday gift! Convenient, multiple class sessions are available to choose from beginning on Saturday, November 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (bring a sack lunch) or Tuesdays, November 6th through 27th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or Thursdays, November 8th through December 6th (skip 11/22) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The all-day Saturday workshop or either 4-week session cost $45.00 each. Supply fees are $2.00 per ornament with an additional $3.00 for faceted jewels to use on the angel ornament. For more information, contact the instructor at 302-3725.
Need something to hang on the mantle? Instructor Gail Chaffin leads the “Christmas Stocking” beginner sewing class for teens and adults on Thursday, November 8th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or Thursday, November 15th from 6:00 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. This simple but unique stocking design is crafted from fabric you bring to class: ¾ yard of a Christmas print or satin for the stocking top and back; as well as ¼ yard each of 4 different coordinating fabrics to match. Gail will then lead the group in piecing and sewing together this stunning holiday decoration! Cost for each class is $20.00. Experiencing local fame on Channel 5’s Talk of the Town, the Stampin’ Sisters now share their unique talent with the “Stamping: Jumpstart Christmas” card-making class on Thursday, November 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Teens and adults can make 15 stunning Christmas cards (5 of each design) using stamps and inks, embellishments, scrapbook papers and holiday flare. Don’t miss a chance to create cards pretty enough to give as gifts! Cost is $15.00 for the class with a $5.00 supply fee. Register by Friday, November 9th.
