Ø  The Nashville Symphony will perform two free community concerts in October, including the orchestra’s first-ever visit to Plaza Mariachi. Details for each are as follows; click on concert name for more information:

 

7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Plaza Mariachi, 3955 Nolensville Pike, Nashville

Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez and the Nashville Symphony take a musical tour of Spain and Latin America, including Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba and Costa Rica, with music by Astor Piazzolla, Ernesto Lecuona and more.

Newly appointed assistant conductor Nathan Aspinall makes his first public appearance leading the orchestra in some of classical music’s greatest selections, including works by Beethoven, Stravinsky, Dvořák, John Williams and much more.

 

Ø  Tickets for the Nashville Symphony’s first free Chamber Music Series concert of the season, Variations for Strings, will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 7. The concert takes place 2 p.m. Sunday, October 20, at the Schermerhorn. Tickets can be reserved at NashvilleSymphony.org/CMS or via phone at 615.687.6400. Seating is limited to two seats per household.

Ø  Members of the Nashville Symphony will perform during the Opening Ceremony for Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project Week this Sunday, October 6, starting at 6 p.m. at Ryman Auditorium. Paul Jacobs joins the orchestra as the featured soloist on Horatio Parker’s Organ Concerto, before the Nashville Symphony and Chorus team up to perform Rachmaninoff’s secular masterpiece, which draws on Edgar Allen Poe’s poem of the same name.
