New Youth Basketball Program in Franklin

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Athletic Division is proud to announce the new Franklin Youth Basketball program! Players ages 5 to 18 will have the opportunity to experience all-county play while challenging themselves to improve skills, sportsmanship and build relationships with players in other communities. Registration is currently underway at the Indoor Sports Complex and will end on Thu., Oct. 25. (Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by Sun. Oct. 21) Players must be of age as of Dec. 31, 2007 and must provide a birth certificate. The league fee of $80 per player is due at registration and will include the team jersey and shorts. Practices will be held at both the Franklin Elementary and Freedom Intermediate schools, while home games will be played at Academy Park. 
 
Draft Day is Sat., Oct. 27 at Academy Park:
Ages 5-6 from 2:30-3 p.m. – Court 2
Ages 7-8 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. – Court 1
Ages 9-10 from 3:45-4:45 p.m. – Court 1
Ages 11-12 from 5-6 p.m. – Court 1
Ages 13-14 from 3:15-3:45 p.m. – Court 2
Ages 15-18 from 4-4:30 p.m. – Court 2
  
Help is needed in the areas of: head coaches, assistant coaches, officials and supervisors. All coaches must be NYSCA certified, with clinics for certification offered by W.C.P.R. if needed.

The Indoor Sports Complex is located at 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood. Academy Park is located at 120 Everbright Street in Franklin (Old BGA Gym). Franklin Elementary School is located at 303 Fairground Street in Franklin. Freedom Intermediate School is located at 840 Glass Lane in Franklin.
