New Programming for Adults and Kids at the Franklin Recreation Complex

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department announces new Chinese Language and Latin Dance classes at the Franklin Recreation Complex.
 
Learn to communicate with 1.3 billion people on the other side of the planet! In this 10-week beginner class, Instructor Charles Li will teach the Mandarin Chinese language through a multi-media approach where participants will learn to listen, read, write and speak. Cultural activities will also be introduced. Classes for both adults and children will be offered:
“Chinese for Adults” will be offered on Fridays, April 4th through June 6th from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The cost is $250.00, with a $25.00 supply fee (for workbook, textbook and CD), payable to the Instructor.
“Chinese for Children”, (ages 4-10 years), will meet from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays, April 4th through June 6th or Saturdays, April 5th through June 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The cost to participate in either children’s session is $90.00, with a $25.00 supply fee (for workbook, textbook and CD), payable to the Instructor.
 
Then, put on your dancing shoes and learn “impress-your-friends” moves in the “Latin Dancing Workshop”.  The class will focus on Cuban motion, Latin styling, music phrasing and creative partnering. Instructor, Annie Stokes-Tyshkevych will teach teen and adult participants all the major Latin dances; as well as, which music goes with each dance, on Saturday, April 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost is $20.00 per person or $30.00 per couple. This workshop will be taught at an intermediate level, but all levels of dancers are welcome to attend! Space is limited.
