New Assistant Principal
As a new school year begins this fall at Franklin Elementary, students and faculty will see a familiar face in the assistant principal’s office. Franklin Elementary special education teacher Cheryl Robey will step up July 1 to fill the role left by Marcella Crenshaw, who is moving back to her home state of Kentucky.
"Ms. Robey has been an effective and faithful teacher at Franklin Elementary School for 17 years," said Franklin Elementary Principal Mark Tornow. "This experience gives her a strong background for this position. She knows the faculty and families of the Franklin Elementary community and has been responsive to their needs. I am confident that she will be an effective part of the administration as the school strives for excellence and success."
Ms. Robey is a highly regarded teacher who was chosen by her peers in 2006 as Franklin Elementary’s Co-Teacher of the Year. She has been deeply involved in the School Improvement process and has served as the Principal Designee. She has also recently been involved with the Middle Tennessee Writing Project. "As an active candidate for National Board Certification, she knows what it takes to be a great teacher and is willing to demonstrate that to others," Mr. Tornow said.
