The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) has a variety of nature programs planned at Timberland Park in Franklin. All programs are open to the public, and the majority are free of charge. Program participation is limited, and pre-registration is required.

  • Friday, September 3 – 4:45 p.m. – Mammal Pelt Program – Registration Code: 21511
  • Saturday, September 4 – 10:30 a.m. – Edible Plants – Registration Code: 21512
  • Sunday, September 5 – 10:30 a.m. – 1 Mile Guided Hike – Registration Code: 21513
  • Monday, September 6 – 10:30 a.m. – 2 Mile Guided Hike – Registration Code: 21514
  • Monday, September 6 – 2:00 p.m. – Mammal Pelt Program – Registration Code 21515
  • Sunday, September 12 – 10:30 a.m. – 2 Mile Guided Hike – Registration Code: 21516
  • Saturday, September 18 – 10:30 a.m. – Hiking Essentials – Registration Code: 21517
  • Tuesday, September 21 – 7:30 p.m. – Night Hike – Registration Code: 21518
  • Saturday, September 25 – 8:30 a.m. – Land Navigation – Registration Code: 21519
  • Sunday, September 26 – 8:30 a.m. – Fall Migratory Birds – Registration Code: 21520

In addition, the Timberland Park staff will be hosting a special Fall Jr. Naturalist Camp, October 11-15, for children ages 7 to 12. Timberland Park is located at mile marker 437.2 on the Natchez Trace Parkway, and is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
