Exciting New Classes at WCPR!!

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department announces new classes for adults and children at the Franklin Recreation Complex. Don’t miss out on these excellent opportunities!
 
Looking for a way to get a head-start on the upcoming school year? Then join Instructor, Stephanie Brown for a Summer Spanish Prep Class for Teens and Adults. This class is designed to give students ages 15-18, who plan to take a Spanish course at their school, a prior opportunity to learn basic Spanish. Classes are Mondays, July 7th through July 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The cost to participate is $40.00 for the 4-week session. Space is limited and the deadline to register is Thursday, July 3rd.
 
A series of Music, Movement & Voice classes for children with Instructor, Ricky Newman will be held Thursdays, July 10th through July 31st. The cost for each 4-week series session is $40.00. The series is as follows:
 
First, children ages 3-5 can join “I Am A Big Kid Now”. This is a playful class that will introduce your child to their primary senses, sounds and tones. Participants will learn the difference between hearing and listening and loud and soft. They will also play movement games; toy instruments; learn songs and how to come out of their shell. This class will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
 
Next, children ages 6-8 can participate in “I Want To Learn” from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.   In this class students will learn about movement, exercise, proper breathing and how to overcome their fears.  They will also work on pitch, do vocal exercises, sing songs and play games. 
 
Finally, for children ages 9-11 “The Entertainer” from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. In this class participants will have the opportunity to be the center of attention! Students will learn proper speaking, pronunciation and breathing techniques; along with, projection, stage presence, performance, pitch and range. Designed for the child with an interest in entertainment, this class will also be presented in a game-like atmosphere.
