The Way & Joy of the Painted Journal – Workshop with Artist Lisa Jennings – The Copper Fox Gallery

Enjoy a day creating your own personal journal. We will start with a large sheet of paper that we use fun and creative printing techniques on a gelli plate to print the pages of your journal with acrylic paints. Once the paper has been printed Lisa will show you how fold and bind your pages into a finished journal with a plain binding that can be embellished with or without arty beads. The finished journal will measure 6.5” x 6.5” – 12 pages long. I love using my handmade journals for gifts. People have used them to record a special trip, make a baby book and or just a special place to record, add more art and or photos.

The MIXED MEDIA PAINTED JOURNAL is the basic way that Lisa uses prayer, how she celebrates and works through life’s stuff, it often times is the way that she stays checked in. She started her painted journal process years ago when she went through a big transition in her life, leaving a corporate salaried job to strike out on her own as an artist! The journal was and is her journey today through her life, creating the vision in form, using it as a compass The journal is her way of stepping out and up to what life brings, her visual prayer and notebook of experimentation and exploration.

Lisa creates an atmosphere for each person to feel comfortable, safe, and most of all an opening for everyone to have fun with their process.
