Summer Sessions- Music Theater Event Downtown Franklin

Summer Sessions: Music Theater at The Franklin Theatre

We’re bringing the mission of The Franklin Theatre to life with our upcoming “Summer Sessions” series! This 4-day event is intended to grant middle school-aged and high school-aged students an in-depth look into specific areas of the theater and music industries. If you’re looking to master your craft in acting, musical theater, set design, make-up or music business, come learn from passionate educators and working arts professionals in this transformational program!

The Music Theater intensive will be hosted on June 26 & 27, and will provide students an in-depth look into different aspects of a career in the performing arts industry. Participants will learn performance and acting techniques from experts in the field, work through musical theater pieces and learn the skill of acting through song, learn the basics of theater production and set design in a hands-on setting, and express themselves through movement while exploring characterization.

Students should prepare a short monologue and a song to bring with them. The final day of the session will end with a short showcase.

The cost of the program is $100 per student, and includes lunch.
