FT Live; Janelle Arthur

August 30, 2021 @ 8:00 pm

Janelle Arthur, live entertainment in downtown Franklin, TN, events and shows at The Franklin Theatre.

Janelle Arthur was singing before she could talk and at 4 years old, she told her mom that she wanted to be on the Grand Ole Opry.

From an early inspiration, to portraying her as a child in the production Paradise Road, to releasing their duet, Janelle Arthur’s bond with the iconic Dolly Parton came full circle with the collaboration of a song.

“Hand Me Downs” is a nostalgic anthem written and co-produced by Arthur, featuring the one and only Dolly Parton. The lyrics are timeless, and illuminate what really matters: family, inherited traits, heirlooms, and pride in our heritage.  Their common East Tennessee roots are unmistakable in their vocal blend and honest delivery.

Rising from her humble roots in the heart of the Smoky Mountains to international exposure as a top finalist on television’s American Idol, Janelle has fashioned her way to 22 Grand Ole Opry Performances, appearances on The Today Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Access Hollywood, Today in Nashville, and The American Idol Tour.

Janelle Arthur’s acting debut emanated when she was offered the lead role in the feature film, Runnin’ From My Roots.  Arthur co-wrote and performed 5 songs on the film’s original soundtrack.  The title track’s music video “Runnin’ From My Roots” spawned a #1 on CMT’s Music 12 Pack for 6 weeks.

With thousands of performances, national and international fans, this Nashville recording artist continues to astound fans with her unyielding songwriting talent, pure and compelling vocals, and her undisputed dominion of the stage.

Janelle Arthur has proven to be one of the most promising multi-dimensional entertainers since Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire with her inherent ability to connect with audiences through film, television, and live shows.  She moved to Nashville to pursue her passion for songwriting and plans to create music for the rest of her life.  Janelle is looking forward to releasing new music and performing more shows on the road this year.

Opening Act: Brett Sherokey

Franklin Theatre events, Opening Act- Brett Sherokey

A native of Belleville, IL, writer/artist, Brett Sheroky moved to Nashville in 2009. Working as a speech therapist by day, Brett spent over a decade on the outside of the music scene focusing on the craft of songwriting. That disciplined approach paid off in 2020 when Brett signed his first publishing deal with SeaGayle Music. Sheroky has landed two major artist cuts with Granger Smith’s “Man Made” and Blake Shelton’s “Bible Verses”. Brett’s sound is dynamic and falls somewhere between 90s country and 70s rock. We are so excited for people to get to know his artist side. Check out Brett’s new single, “4 Goodyears”!!
