FT Live: Deborah Allen
June 5, 2021 @ 8:00 pm

Deborah Allen is one of those rare artists who forged their own path to success and ended up building a world-class career in the process. She has given country music and her loyal fans forty years of music and memories that will span a lifetime. Deborah is an extraordinarily talented singer, songwriter, producer and performer. Her songs have been recorded by LeAnn Rimes, Brooks & Dunn, Patty Loveless, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Tanya Tucker, George Jones, Janie Fricke, John Conlee, Lori Morgan, Vern Gosdin, Joe Nichols, Isaac Hayes, Millie Jackson, Diana Ross, Sheena Easton, Fleetwood Mac and many more.
As an artist, Deborah has charted 14 singles in the Billboard Hot Country Charts and released 13 albums. Her hits include “I’ve Been Wrong Before,” “Heartache And A Half,” “I Hurt For You,” “Rock Me,” “If Your Not Gonna Love Me” and “Baby I Lied.” In some ways, “Baby I Lied” confirmed the idea that an artist could have success in different formats with the same song – a precedent that would prove to be years ahead of the crossover trends of today. “Baby I Lied” appealed to Country and Pop radio listeners, earning multiple BMI Million Air-Play Awards in the process and it also resulted in a pair of Grammy nominations for the Delta songstress – one as a vocalist and one as a songwriter. Deborah Allen has recorded duets with Jim Reeves, George Jones and is the only country artist to be produced by legendary pop/rock icon, Prince. This year marks Allen’s 40th Anniversary in country music and on June 5th, 2019 Deborah was honored with an Official Proclamation from Tennessee State Governor Bill Lee, announcing June 5th as a Day of Recognition to honor her artistry and career achievements. Deborah is currently in the studio completing her new album, soon to be released on Audium-Nashville-BFD records.
