Franklin Tomorrow will once again present the Anne T. Rutherford Exemplary Community Volunteer Awards at its July 9 Shrimp Boil presented byDickinson-Wright LLC.  The deadline for nominations for the awards is end of business on Friday, May 13.
In 2007, Franklin Tomorrow established the Anne T. Rutherford Exemplary Community Volunteer Award to honor the decades of service and tremendous impact that Rutherford has had in Franklin. In the following years, the awards grew to include Volunteer Spirit Awards and the Youth Initiative Award. Last year, the inaugural Ned Lea Volunteer Contribution Award was created to posthumously honor an exemplary volunteer.
Deserving volunteers may be nominated by any community member or staff person. Nominees must be actively volunteering at one or more organizations in Franklin/Williamson County. If the nominator is not with the volunteer agency of the nominee, please provide contact information for the agency. Please note that some are not eligible for participation, including past award recipients, individuals involved in “court-mandated community service” or those receiving compensation for service rendered.
Nomination forms may be found online at www.franklintomorrow.org or can be obtained by contacting Franklin Tomorrow Executive Director Mindy Tate at 794-0998. Forms must be accompanied by a one-page statement to acquaint the Awards Committee with the nominees. The deadline forsubmitting nominations is end of business on Friday, May 13, 2011.
