Community Meeting

With gas prices are on the rise again, the community is looking at alternative transportation services. The Franklin Transit Authority offers the opportunity to get out of your vehicle and use the City of Franklin’s public transportation services.

Franklin Transit Authority is hosting a community meeting 5:00 pm, Tuesday, March 5, at the Franklin Housing Authority Community Center, to provide information about Franklin’s public transit services. The meeting begins at 5:00 pm and concludes by 6:30 pm.  The Community Center is located at 200 Spring Street, Franklin, 37064.

“The Franklin Transit system provides transportation service within the City of Franklin” said Debbie Henry, Executive Director of the Franklin Transit Authority. “Our riders utilize both fixed route services and curb-to-curb pick-up and drop-off services. We invite the community to attend our March 5 meeting to learn more about our services and to provide input.”

She noted that in addition to its extensive scheduled routes throughout Franklin, Franklin Transit Authority also offers Transit on Demand (TODD) services. TODD provides pre-arranged curb-to-curb pick-up and drop-off services.  Costs for this popular service vary depending on the distance traveled.

All Franklin Transit vehicles are ADA accessible.  Franklin Transit vehicles operate Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The March 5 meeting will be an opportunity to learn about all the services offered by Franklin Transit, pick up a transit schedule, and meet Franklin Transit staff who can answer any questions.
