Legal Aid Society Promotes Brittany Curry to Director of Development
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 22, 2020 — Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, Tennessee’s largest nonprofit law firm, announced today that Brittany Curry has been promoted to director of development.
Curry has served as the firm’s hiring manager and Nashville office manager since 2017. As director of development, she will be responsible for managing the organization’s fundraising strategy and fostering a culture of deep-rooted philanthropy and advocacy.
“Brittany joined Legal Aid Society nearly three years ago and has become an indispensable team member in our Nashville office,” said DarKenya W. Waller, executive director of Legal Aid Society. “During these uncertain times, her experience will be a tremendous asset as we position Legal Aid to be an integral part of the economic recovery efforts in our community. This will be a new and different opportunity for her as she manages the administrative duties of the position as well as the relationship-building with our supporters across the community, which will be essential to her success. We look forward to supporting her growth within Legal Aid Society as we continue to help Middle Tennesseans achieve equal access to justice.”
Before joining Legal Aid Society, Curry worked as an office coordinator and account manager for TA Staffing. Her other previous work experience includes management, marketing and acting as a client liaison.

Curry graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in leadership and civic engagement. She holds a nonprofit essentials certificate from the Center for Nonprofit Management in Nashville and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and University of Alabama Alumni Association.
