Nashville Tech Council Hosts Virtual Career Fair To Combat Rising Unemployment
Participants will be able to explore over 1,500 Middle Tennessee-based tech jobs
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – May 8, 2020 – The Greater Nashville Tech Council (NTC) is hosting a live virtual career fair on May 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Employers are invited to participate for a fee, and anyone currently seeking a job in the tech industry can register at no cost.
Participating employers include Amazon, 3-D Technology, L3 Harris|ForceX, Brookdale Senior Living, TechnologyAdvice and eviCore Healthcare.
Candidates will have the opportunity to upload their resume and explore over 1,500 open positions in Nashville and Middle Tennessee using a virtual, interactive hiring booth interface. Each customizable booth allows candidates to learn more about the employer, view job opportunities and speak with company recruiters using a chat function. Employers can then hold on-the-spot interviews via video conference, if they so choose.
“We’ve seen the sheer number of people losing their jobs across industries due to the economic effects of the pandemic, but our members are still hiring, so this is our way of making the job openings accessible to more people in a safe manner,” said Steve Cherry, VP of Corporate Outreach at NTC. “We already have about 150 candidates registered, so this looks to be a promising event that will hopefully help to combat the rising unemployment rate.”
