STUDIO TENN TO PRESENT C.S. LEWIS’ THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE

Opens Dec. 1 And Runs Through Dec. 23 At Jamison Theater;
Studio Tenn Partners With Williamson County’s CASA To Support Children In Need

FRANKLIN, TN – 2 November 2017 – Studio Tenn crosses through the wardrobe this holiday season with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to yet again take families to a land they have never seen before.  Audiences can enter a world where animals talk, elves walk and the White Witch rules the landscape December 1 – 23 at the Jamison Theater in the Factory at Franklin.

Telling the story of four children who cross through an enchanted wardrobe into a wintery world ruled by the White Witch, this family favorite comes to life on stage through the use of puppetry and creative artistry for all of Middle Tennesseans to enjoy.

Deemed one of the 100 greatest novels of all time, book lovers and movie fanatics alike rave over C.S. Lewis’ critically acclaimed tale of Narnia.  A production steeped in symbolism and meaning, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a play fit for audiences of all ages.

Studio Tenn Artistic Director, Matt Logan, commented on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and how the show is the perfect fit for the company’s seasonal holiday offerings.

“This is a play for both children and adults,” said Logan. “The Pevensie children are the lens through which Narnia is revealed to the entire audience. I think when you combine the classic nature of the novel with the design and interpretation that we do here at Studio Tenn, we have a perfect match for the holiday season.”

In addition to this year’s winter production, Studio Tenn will be offering exclusive backstage tours of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe prior to Saturday and Sunday matinee performances.

For only $15, families can join Studio Tenn on an elaborate tour through the company facilities and backstage of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, meet the creative puppetry that makes up the great and powerful Aslan and take photos with family and friends with the magical wardrobe.

Special discounts apply for parties of four or more. Dates and times include December 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, and 17th at 11:30 a.m.

Magical performances and specialty tours aren’t the only things Studio Tenn has to offer this Christmas. In the spirit of the season, Studio Tenn encourages patrons who attend performances December 1-10 to bring new coats for kids, sizes 6 months to 12 youth, to donate to Williamson County’s chapter of Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA).

The coats will then be distributed to local children in need, and a final tally of donated coats will be announced at A Studio Tenn Christmas on Wednesday, December 13.

Williamson County CASA’s Ondrea Johnson expressed her excitement to work with Studio Tenn for the CASA jacket drive.

“Williamson County CASA is so honored to be partnering with Studio Tenn to help provide coats for children in need this holiday season,” said Johnson. “When they asked us how they could help, we were thrilled to be able to partner with them in this way.  We love joining forces with others in our community; we accomplish so much more together!”

Johnson also mentioned her excitement in seeing the results of the drive and how the children of Williamson county will benefit from the collaboration.
