Summer Soccer Athletes
Future Stars Clinics
These clinics are held on Friday nights during the spring and fall outdoor season and are open only to players registered with WCSA for that season: Future Stars Juniors focuses on the U7-U9 players, and Future Stars is for the U10-U12 age groups. Each one and a half hour session focuses on developing age appropriate skills, with the aim of improving core soccer proficiencies such as dribbling, passing, receiving and finishing. We also run specialty clinics for goalkeepers.
The program is designed in a manner in which each week previously learned skills are reviewed, new skill sets are learned, and small-sided games are played with encouragement to use the skills worked on.
All clinics are designed and run by our Director of Coaching, David Cordero de Jesus, with the help of experienced coaches.
- Week 1 Ball manipulation: dribbling for possession/shielding
- Week 2 Dribbling away from pressure: turns
- Week 3 Dribbling to beat an opponent: forward moves
- Week 4 Receiving: first touch away from pressure
- Week 5 Passing: Proper accuracy and pace
- Week 6 Shooting & Finishing
Hot Shots Soccer Camps
WCSA’s Summer Camps are dedicated to providing the youth soccer players of Williamson County professional instruction in a positive environment. All camps are run by our Director of Coaching, David Cordero de Jesus, who is nationally licensed, and has more than 15 years coaching experience.
Little Kickers (ages 5 – 6) is the ideal half-day soccer camp for the younger player. Players participate in age appropriate skill games and finish each day with small-sided games.
Hot Shots Soccer Camp (ages 7-12)provides the perfect atmosphere for the recreational player in the early stages of their development. The curriculum is a games approach to teaching skills as well as small-sided games each afternoon.
Hot Shots Advanced Camp (ages 9-15) is designed for players who have developed towards the advanced skill level. Curriculum incorporates tactical themes along with skill work, which is reinforced with afternoon games. Players should expect increased physical demands at this advanced level.
Hot Shots Stoppers Camp (ages 9-15) is for players who would like to develop their goal tending skills. Players will spend the first half of each day with goalkeeping staff, perfecting individual technique, then incorporate what they have learned during team games with field players in their age group.
All camps run for 5 days over 2 weeks in June. Players may attend one or both weeks. Lunch is provided for an extra fee.
