The Nashville Symphony will open Live on the Green at Public Square Park with K.S. Rhoads on September 8th. All other concerts will take place at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. An epic musical event! The latest installment of the definitive jazz/rock/fusion ensemble Return to Forever brings together core members Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and Lenny White, virtuoso electric violinist Jean-Luc Ponty and guitarist Frank Gambale. They’ll take an unforgettable tour through RTF’s classic songbook, highlights from each member’s solo career and brand-new heavyweight material. Guitarist Dweezil Zappa created Zappa Plays Zappa to share the music of his late father, Frank Zappa, with today’s audiences. Featuring some of the most innovative players working today, ZPZ rise to the challenge of bringing Zappa’s legendary repertoire alive in concert. Before and after the concert, patrons are invited to experience the Harman International Mobile Audio Showroom, featuring the world’s finest audio equipment from Mark Levinson, JBL Synthesis, Lexicon and Revel. The showroom will open to the public at 5:30 p.m. on Symphony Place in front of Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

This piece is perfectly matched with Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring, which celebrates the American spirit with music of breathtaking beauty and directness.
