City Mayor
John Schroer was sworn in as the City’s 30th Mayor on November 13, 2007. Prior to being elected Mayor, he served as chairman of the board for the Franklin Special School District for eleven years.
Born in Evansville, Indiana, Mayor Schroer received his bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University. Upon graduation, he moved to the Franklin area where he received an MBA from the University of Tennessee’s Nashville campus. Mayor Schroer is currently President of Southland Management & Development Company.
The Mayor and his wife Marianne are members of Franklin’s First United Methodist Church, where he serves as Chairman of the Site Selection and Building Committee. He is a past board member of Williamson County United Way and a founding board member of Franklin Tomorrow.
He also served on the Tennessee School Boards Association as vice president and on the Education First Foundation board. Mayor Schroer has three children: Carly and Luke who reside in Franklin; and Matt who, along with his wife Jodi, resides in Nashville.
