The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County has sold one of its historic downtown Franklin properties.
The building at 112 Bridge St., known as the “Old Old Jail,” sold for $4.5 million in late August to Loch’ed Out, LLC, a Williamson County-based company.
The Heritage Foundation purchased the property in 2013 for $25,000 and restored it, renaming it the LeHew Magid Big House for Historic Preservation by 2016. The organization has used the building for offices since the restoration was completed in 2016.
The building served as the Williamson County jail from 1941 to 1970 and was later used as a highway patrol outpost, employment office, county archives facility, and book storage space for the school system.
The Heritage Foundation announced in July 2025 that both 112 Bridge St. and the neighboring property at 108 Bridge St. were being offered for sale. The 108 Bridge St. property, sometimes called the “Old Old Old Jail,” remains on the market.
The Moore-Morris History and Culture Center, which operated at 108 Bridge St., closed that location in February 2026 as it prepared for its future move to the LeHew Mansion at Franklin Grove Estate & Gardens. The center is currently offering programs and exhibits through its Museum Without Walls initiative while its new permanent space is being prepared.
