L.L.Bean officially opened its first Tennessee store at CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin on Friday, July 17, 2026.
The grand opening began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and included a $10,000 donation to the Franklin Family YMCA. According to the YMCA, the contribution will help provide financial assistance through its Open Doors Program, support the 16-week After Breast Cancer program and strengthen other community initiatives.
Located on the upper level of the mall near Macy’s, the 18,000-square-foot store offers L.L.Bean apparel, footwear and outdoor gear. The Franklin location gives Tennessee shoppers their first opportunity to visit a permanent L.L.Bean retail store in the state.
District Manager Kenon Mitchell said Tennessee customers have shopped with L.L.Bean through its catalog and website for generations. The company selected Franklin because of the area’s outdoor culture and growing community, with plans to serve longtime customers while introducing the brand to new shoppers.
Community members and fans of the Maine-based company gathered at the mall throughout opening weekend. Activities included Boat and Tote monogramming, tote bag screen printing, paracord crafts, giveaways and photo opportunities with the L.L.Bean Bootmobile.
Some shoppers began lining up as early as 3 a.m. on opening day. The first 100 customers on Friday received $50 L.L.Bean gift cards, while the first 100 customers on Saturday received custom Boat and Tote bags.
L.L.Bean was founded in Maine in 1912 and is known for its outdoor clothing, footwear, and equipment. The Franklin store is located at 1800 Galleria Boulevard, Suite 2520, inside CoolSprings Galleria.
