Franklin Classical School Presents The Drowsy Chaperone

The Drowsy Chaperone is a joyful, slapstick celebration of musical theatre, bursting with silly romance, tap-dancing groomsmen, and gloriously dramatic misunderstandings. Told by the “Man in the Chair” who finds comfort in an old cast recording, the show gently reminds us that music and storytelling can lift the heart when life feels a little blue.
As the show stumbles along, the audience is drawn into themes like grace, humility, and redemption. Its characters are delightfully imperfect, making poor choices and telling half-truths, and yet everything resolves in harmony. In that sense, The Drowsy Chaperone echoes a hopeful truth: joy often comes not from having it all together, but from laughter, forgiveness, and the simple gift of delight.
