Veterinary Innovative Partners Appoints Local Healthcare IT Leader Rusty Strange as New Chief Information Officer
FRANKLIN, TENN. (October 6, 2025) – Veterinary Innovative Partners (VIP), a network of nearly 70 veterinarian-owned-and-operated hospitals across 12 states, today announced the appointment of Rusty Strange as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Based in VIP’s Nashville headquarters, Strange will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s technology strategy, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and driving an innovative digital strategy across the national footprint. He will also lead initiatives to implement IT solutions that support VIP’s long-term growth and the unique needs of veterinarians and their care teams across the country.
This appointment reflects VIP’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to empower veterinary professionals, streamline operations and elevate the standard of care for pets and their families. Earlier this year, VIP partnered with VetRec, a leading veterinary AI assistant, underscoring the company’s dedication to innovation in support of pet health.
Strange brings more than two decades of healthcare IT leadership to his new role. Most recently, he served as CIO of Regent Surgical Health. Previously, he spent 17 years in senior IT roles at AMSURG. Additionally, Strange is an active member of the healthcare and technology community. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Tennessee CIO Leadership Association and is a regular participant in organizations including Tennessee HIMSS, the Greater Nashville Technology Council and the Nashville Health Care Council.
