The Franklin Band Announces Return of Their Beloved Fruit Sale

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — September 22, 2025 — The Franklin Band has announced the revival of a beloved tradition, titling it, the Throwback Fruit Sale. The Throwback Fruit Sale offers the community the opportunity to purchase premium fruit, vegetables, and cheesecakes while directly supporting the band’s students and their trip to Pasadena to participate in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade; an honor bestowed upon just 18 bands worldwide.

The fundraiser features fresh oranges, grapefruits, pears, vegetables, cheesecakes and other selections delivered just in time for the holiday season. Orders are accepted by active Franklin Band members and select middle school students from Grassland Middle School and Poplar Grove Middle School who are marching in the Rose Parade as Franklin Band members. Purchases may also be made online through October 24, 2025 by visiting FreshFruitOrder.org/TFB. Orders can ship nationwide and are also available for pick-up.

“We are delighted to bring back a tradition that our community remembers fondly,” said Dr. Michael Holland, Director of Bands at Franklin High School. “As we mark the 30th anniversary of our return to Pasadena, this fundraiser bridges generations of supporters and alumni who marched in the 1996 Tournament of Roses Parade. That year, fruit sales funded the entire trip. Reviving the sale today allows us to honor that legacy while supporting our current members’ journey.”

The Franklin Band is also accepting orders to benefit GraceWorks. Customers wishing to donate should enter, “GraceWorks Donation” in the note section of the Shopping Cart. Franklin’s band members will deliver the orders to GraceWorks.

Order pick-up is tentatively scheduled from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19th at Franklin High School, with an alternative date of Thursday, November 20. Order Information:
