One Generation Away Partners with Kilwins Franklin to Feed Local Families in Need

Donors Receive Free Slice of Fudge or Scoop of Ice Cream Now Through August 31

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (August 14, 2025) –  One Generation Away (OneGenAway) is calling on the Williamson County community to help feed families facing food insecurity and enjoy a sweet “thank you” for their efforts. Now through August 31, 2025, OneGen has partnered with Kilwins Chocolate and Ice Cream Shop in Downtown Franklin for the “Fill a Bucket, Feed a Family” drive.

Community members can pick up an empty ice cream tub from Kilwins Franklin (405 Main St, Franklin, TN 37064), fill it with non-perishable items from OneGenAway’s priority list and return it by the end of August. In appreciation, Kilwins Franklin will treat donors to their choice of a free slice of handcrafted fudge or a scoop of ice cream served in a fresh waffle cone.

“We’re thrilled to join hands with OneGenAway to tackle food insecurity and uplift our community,” said Melissa Wooten, General Manager of Kilwins Franklin. “Together, we are building a brighter future for those in need.”

OneGenAway’s most-needed items include:

  • Canned green beans
  • Canned corn
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Peanut butter
  • Boxed or bagged cereal
  • Canned tuna or chicken

“This partnership is a simple, hands-on way for anyone to step up and lend a helping hand,” said Chris Whitney, OneGenAway Co-Founder and CEO. “Every bucket filled means one more family with food on their table, and that’s something worth celebrating.”

All donations will directly support families in Tennessee experiencing food insecurity. With just a couple of weeks left, OneGenAway and Kilwins Franklin encourage residents to take part now and make a meaningful impact.
