Bicentennial Park Grand Opening Set for June 18th in Downtown Franklin

Franklin’s newest green space is officially ready to welcome the public. After years of planning and development, Bicentennial Park will open its gates on Wednesday, June 18th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration from 4 to 6 pm.

Located between 3rd Avenue, North Margin, and the Harpeth River, on the site of the former Georgia Boot Factory, the 14-acre park offers a fresh, inviting space in the heart of downtown. Features include a new open-air pavilion, shaded picnic areas, a performance stage, and a public plaza that tells the story of the historic interurban rail system. A restored dust collector from the old factory ductworks also pays tribute to the site’s past.

The park can accommodate 3,000–5,000 guests for events, adding a valuable venue for community gatherings, outdoor concerts, and family outings.

The grand opening will begin with a 4 pm ceremony hosted by the City of Franklin, with officials from the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, Parks Department, and Engineering Department on hand.
