Local Student Performers Selected to Perform at Sydney Opera House

Franklin, TN – Ethan Hill and Ty Henry, students at Franklin High School, have been selected for the High School Honors Performance Series at The Sydney Opera House. They will perform in July with the Honors Orchestra. Participation in the Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated young performers worldwide.
Ethan and Ty auditioned for the Honors Performance Series and were recently accepted after a review by the Honors Selection Board. Acceptance to the elite group is a direct result of the talent, dedication, and achievements demonstrated in their application and audition recording.
Ethan Hill has studied music for 6 years and is a member of the Tennessee Youth Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra at Franklin High School. Ty Henry, in addition to the Franklin High Chamber Orchestra, was selected for Mid-State and All-State Honors. He is also a member of the award-winning Franklin High School Marching Band.
They will join performers from 48 states in the U.S., Bermuda, Canada, China, and South Korea, for a special performance at the world-famous Sydney Opera House, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement. The finalists will be able to learn from world-renowned conductors, work with other performers, and get a taste of Australia. The Honors Performance will take place on July 12, 2025, and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased beginning approximately 60 days before the performance through the Sydney Opera House box office.

The Honors Performance Series was created to showcase accomplished individual student performers on an international level by allowing them to study under master conductors and perform in world-renowned venues.
