Franklin Theatre to Host Songwriting and Music Business Youth Conference in June

High school students with dreams of working in the music industry can take a major step forward this summer at the 2025 Songwriting and Music Business Youth Conference, happening June 23–25 at The Franklin Theatre in downtown Franklin, Tennessee.

This unique three-day immersive experience, hosted by Amanda Colleen Williams in partnership with Songpreneurs LLC and supported by The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, is designed for students passionate about songwriting, vocal performance, and arts entrepreneurship. The program is open by application to 40 current high school students who are ready to take their interest in music to the next level.

Led by a team of top-tier music industry professionals with over 10,000 hours of experience, the conference provides participants with an in-depth look into real-world career paths in the music business. The curriculum blends hands-on training with key STEM and ELA Language Arts standards, ensuring that students gain valuable academic and professional insights.

Throughout the three days, students will engage in structured workshops, breakout sessions, and one-on-one coaching, all customized to meet their individual goals and skill levels:

  • Day 1 introduces students to the landscape of the modern music industry and focuses on building core competencies in their chosen tracks. It’s also a chance to network with peers who share similar passions.
  • Day 2 centers around creativity, collaboration, and group work. Students will further develop their skills and prepare for the culminating event while exploring topics like music publishing, branding, and entrepreneurship.
  • Day 3 brings it all together with final rehearsals, performance coaching, and a public concert at The Franklin Theatre on June 25th at 6 pm. Students will showcase their progress and talents in front of friends, family, and members of the local community.

Both performing and non-performing students are encouraged to apply. Each application is reviewed to ensure the conference experience is aligned with the student’s current experience, aspirations, and interest in building a meaningful future in the music industry.

Need-based scholarships are available thanks to support from generous community sponsors. Early registration discounts apply for accepted students.
