Friends of WCAC Announces “Tails of Franklin” Fundraising Project

Local Photographer to Donate Proceeds from Coffee Table Book to Benefit Animals
Since turning her love of photography into a full-time business 15 years ago, Misty Westebbe has specialized in helping people tell their life stories through portraits. Now, the Franklin-based professional is using her talents to showcase local pets in a coffee table book dubbed “Tails of Franklin” to celebrate the special bond between humans and their beloved furry family members.
Westebbe is excited about how much interest the project has already generated. “The response has been overwhelming and truly heartwarming,” she said. “We’re thrilled to share the stories of these wonderful pets while helping the incredible work done by Friends of Williamson County Animal Center!” Her goal is to raise $25,000 for the non-profit organization that provides financial and programmatic support to Williamson County Animal Center and promotes quality of life for all animals and the humans who care for them.
For $150, a family can have a portrait of their pet featured with a full-page spread in the book, tentatively planned to publish in February 2026. Photo shoots are done in the family’s home, at Westebbe’s 2.5-acre studio, or an agreed-upon location elsewhere nearby.
Visit Misty Westebbe Photography’s website to see some of the pet portraits already taken and sign up. WCAC is located at 1006 Grigsby Hayes Court in Franklin, near Franklin Christian Academy. The center is open to the public Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.; Saturday 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.; closed Sunday. Times may vary due to holidays.
