Youth Volleyball League

Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s youth volleyball league for boys and girls in grades 4-8 begins on Sat., March 10, 2007. Registration deadline is Friday, Feb. 2 for the Introductory League (grade 4, 5, 6) and Intermediate League (grade 6, 7, 8).

League fees are $45 for Introductory; $80 for Intermediate ($55 entry fee plus $25 uniform fee). Please make checks out to “WCPR” for the entry fee and “Tom A Promotions” for the uniform fee. The WCPR payment receipt date is used to determine placement on each 10-player team.

All games will be played at Academy Park, located at the old BGA campus by the Williamson County Library. Practices begin the week of March 5 on Mon., Tues. or Thurs. nights and will be played at alternate locations, depending on gym availability.

The Introductory or “training” League is designed for young players wanting to build skills. Games and practices will be played with “Volleylite” volleyballs and players do not have to serve from the baseline. In addition, referees explain the rules of play during the game.

The Intermediate or “middle school” League is for players wanting to take their game to the next level. All games will be played like a middle school game, and players will be assigned a team. Please sign up in advance to make these team assignments as smooth as possible!

Registration forms are available at the Indoor Sports Complex, 920 Heritage Way, Brentwood and the Franklin Recreation Complex at 1120 Hillsboro Road or via the website at www.wcprathletics.org. For more information call Gary Hathcock at 790-5792 or email him at garyh@williamson-tn.org.
