TN CASA ANNUAL MEETING: A CELEBRATION OF THOSE WHO MAKE HELPING 5,350 KIDS ANNUALLY POSSIBLE

TN CASA ANNUAL MEETING: A CELEBRATION OF THOSE WHO MAKE HELPING 5,350 KIDS ANNUALLY POSSIBLE

Media is invited to attend a celebration of those who dedicate valuable time and energy to supporting the mission of Tennessee Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an organization that exists to support, develop, expand and unite local CASA programs in recruiting and training volunteers to advocate for Tennessee’s children who have been abused and neglected. The agency carefully screens and professionally trains volunteers to represent the best interests of children in juvenile court with the goal of securing a safe, permanent home.

This gathering will feature moving stories from those whose lives have been impacted by Tennessee CASA and sets a path forward for communities to do even more. Tennessee CASA has 1,581 volunteers serving 5,350 kids annually; however, the organization estimates approximately 20,000 kids are still in need each year. This event will serve as an opportunity to further highlight the great work being done and the need to do more for children across the state.

PROGRAM:

At the gathering, hear from Mackenzie Johnston, who had her life significantly impacted when her CASA Volunteer provided her guidance to pursue her education and prepare for adulthood. Important leaders in Tennessee will receive awards for their longstanding support of improving the lives of children and families:
