Franklin, TN (MAY XX, 2014)Two hundred years ago, when Frances Scott Key, boarded the flagship of the British fleet in the Chesapeake Bay, his only goal was to persuade the Red Coats to release a friend. He had no way of knowing that his adventure would lead to the creation of a major plank in the platform of the American spirit.

Key’s adventure started on a rainy September night in 1814, as British warships sent a barrage of shells and rockets onto Fort McHenry in Baltimore Harbor. Considering the recent defeat in Washington D.C. when the British burned the Capitol, the Treasury and the President’s home, Key had nearly given up hope for his new young country. How did that night turn the tide? What is the rest of the story that led to Key waking to Old Glory flying through the dawn’s early light?

Read Rockets’ Red Glare to find out.

The fascinating history book will be released in June. This beautifully illustrated coffee table book tells our national anthem’s inspiring story. Rockets’ Red Glare makes a fantastic gift for Father’s Day or for the whole family to read in commemoration of the Fourth of July.

More than just another book, Rockets’ Red Glare comes with a CD featuring multi-platinum artist Jo Dee Messina. Messina lends her powerful voice to the audio recording of the book, as well as The Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful and her personal tribute to the United States Armed Forces, Heaven was Needing a Hero, on the accompanying CD.

Rockets’ Red Glare can teach and inspire future generations of Americans — so that they will know the story of the song that almost didn’t happen and the nation that almost wasn’t. As Old Glory continues to wave over the land of the free, the story behind our national anthem evokes powerful emotions and gets to the spirit of what it means to be an American. This book is dedicated to the men and women of our armed forces who have made America a country for all the people.
