Summer of Stars

The Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center’s mobile unit will be set up in front of Leiper’s Creek Gallery, 4144 Old Hillsboro Rd. from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with adoptable dogs and cats looking for forever homes. Adopters will receive ‘swag’ bags with local merchant and sponsor promotional items.

The shelter is competing in the ASPCA’s Rachael Ray $100K Challenge to adopt more pets during June, July and August than nine other U.S. shelters. Due to the generosity of our challenge sponsors, all pet adoptions are free with approved applications. Participation in the challenge is sponsored by Animalia Health and Wellness and twelve other local businesses: Animal Ark Animal Hospital; Rachel’s Ribbons; Nashville PAW Magazine; Cool Springs Animal Hospital; Franklin Synergy Bank; J.R. Root Horse Behaviorist; First Tennessee Bank; Little House Animal Hospital; Holistic Pet; Regency Office Products; Borderland Diabetic Alert Dogs; and Cause a Scene. An approved application is required before any adoption can be completed.

The shelter, located at 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and new extended hours on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For information about shelter services, call (615) 790-5590. Adoptable animals can also be viewed at www. adoptwcac.org.
