Serving Up Tennis Camps and Teams for Kids!
Join the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department for exciting summer tennis training for kids! Tennis professionals, A.W. Speake, Robbie McCammon, Beth Bilyeu, Jonathan Hains and Gordon Pennington introduce and enhance tennis techniques for all levels of players, from beginners to tournament class. Get in the game and train up over the summer!
First, the “Pee Wee Tennis Camp” for beginners ages 6-10 bounces onto the Ravenwood High School Tennis Courts on Mon., May 21 through Thurs., May 24 with sessions at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. These four one-hour lessons are taught by A.W. Speake, a tennis professional and certified USPTA instructor. Cost is $75 per junior and includes a free tennis racquet.
Next, beginner to intermediate players ages 6 and older can enjoy a “Pre-Summer Tennis Camp”, Tues. through Thurs. May 29, 30 & 31 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex with instructors Robbie McCammon and Beth Bilyeu. Cost is $50 per junior.
Then, an Intermediate to Advanced/Tournament level camp for juniors ages 9-17 will be held Mon., July 9 through Thurs. July 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day at the Indoor Sports Complex with instructors Jonathan Hains and Gordon Pennington. Cost is $100 per junior.
Finally, W.C.P.R. will be organizing Brentwood and Franklin teams for the USTA Junior Team Tennis program. Teams provide practice and match play for intermediate and advanced level junior players ages 9-15. Contact Lara Langvardt at 370-3471, ext. 13 for more information or to register for a team.
