REGISTRATION OPENS FOR ‘BARK ‘N SPLASH BASH’

Pups in the pools on September 7 at two locations

Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC) and Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) announces open registration for the 2nd Annual ‘Bark ‘n Splash Bash’ events for dogs and their owners on Saturday, September 7, 2019. This joint event is sponsored by Scott Poe Properties-Keller Williams and will raise money for the animal center’s special medical fund.

Due to popular demand, Bark ‘n Splash Bash events will be held at two WCPR outdoor pool locations:  the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr., from 9:00 to 12:00 noon, and the Williamson County Recreation Center at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd., from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

During the special events, the pool area will be open only to pre-registered adult handlers (18+) and their dogs. Spectators are welcome to observe from the Bowwow Boosters section (free).

Participants must pre-register at www.wcparksandrec.com. The entry fee is $20 per pet. Space is limited to 70 dogs per location. To register for the Longview/Spring Hill location, use registration code #14961 or registration code #14962 for the Nolensville location. Proof of rabies is required for entry (no exceptions), and participants should review all rules and waivers during online registration. Rain date is Sunday, September 8.

Pet of the Week: Kendall

Sweet and gentle Kendall would love to have a family to adore and care for her! She is 8 years old and weighs 54 pounds. Her gray muzzle gives her a distinguished look and her wise eyes reflect the wisdom of a life well lived. She is an obedient dog who will offer her paw to shake and also knows the sit, come and sit/stay commands.

Kendall really likes to be close by your side on her daily walks and when she is in the fenced yard. She loves to be petted and is so affectionate. She loves riding in the car, too.  You can meet Kendall at Williamson County Animal Center, 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin.
