Lighting the Tree

Lighting the Tree

Franklin Mayor Dr. Ken Moore is ready to flip-the-switch to light up the City’s Christmas Tree on December 1, at 6:00 p.m. in front of City Hall.  The tree lighting ceremony will feature Mayor Moore’s dancing partner and rising country singer Mandy Allyn.  Following a performance by Mandy, the Liberty Elementary Chorus directed by Bobby Vines and Joyce Herring will be joined by Battle Ground Academy’s Wildcat Choir directed by Shari Gerth.  Closing out the entertainment will be Joseph Patton of Studio Tenn, the theatre group who is producing “A Christmas Carol” at the Franklin Theatre.  Once the tree is lit, the children and performers will get a chance to meet Santa Claus inside City Hall.

“This is one of the City’s most fun events” said Mayor Moore.  “Each year we do something a little different and I think this year will be one of our best.  The performance will also be aired on Franklin TV and featured on our YouTube channel.”
The performance will take place on the steps of City Hall near the Franklin Square.  The program will be aired LIVE on WAKM and will be repeated on Franklin TV and the City’s YouTube channel.
