Kings Dining & Entertainment Franklin Celebrates 10 Years With Updated Game Room

For the past decade, Kings Dining & Entertainment has remained one of Franklin’s most recognizable destinations for bowling, nightlife, dining, and family entertainment. Located in CoolSprings Galleria, the venue recently celebrated its 10th anniversary on Thursday, May 14th. The celebration included an introduction to a recently redesigned game room (see photo gallery below). The milestone also highlighted Kings Franklin’s continued growth alongside Williamson County’s rapid expansion.

Kings Franklin blends upscale entertainment with a relaxed social atmosphere. Guests can bowl on interactive lanes, play Krazy Darts and arcade games, enjoy dinner and cocktails, or watch sports and live music. Over the years, the venue has become a popular gathering place for birthday celebrations, team outings, holiday parties, and weekend nightlife. Its ability to appeal to multiple age groups helps distinguish Kings from traditional bowling alleys and arcades in the area.

When Kings Franklin opened in 2016, the venue introduced a fresh entertainment concept to the local market. Instead of focusing only on bowling, Kings combined dining, nightlife, gaming, and private events into one experience. Franklin and Cool Springs were growing rapidly at the time, and Kings quickly attracted residents seeking elevated indoor entertainment options.

Over the past decade, Kings Franklin has become part of Williamson County’s entertainment scene. Families visit for birthdays and school breaks. Professionals stop in for happy hour and corporate gatherings. Couples enjoy casual date nights, while sports fans gather around HDTVs during football season and major tournaments. Guests can shape the experience around their own plans, whether that means bowling with children or listening to live music later in the evening.

The venue’s retro-inspired design also helped Kings stand out locally. Neon lighting, lounge seating, large screens, and modern bowling technology create an energetic but comfortable atmosphere. That balance has helped the Franklin location remain relevant as entertainment trends continue evolving.

About Kings Franklin Updated Game Room

Among the Kings anniversary celebrations was the introduction of a recently redesigned game room. The updated space gives guests another reason to stay beyond bowling. It also adds more interactive experiences for casual players and competitive groups. The redesigned area includes large-screen televisions, Krazy Darts, Pop-A-Shot basketball, billiards, Jet Pong, and additional game attractions.

“We’re always trying to make changes to improve and enhance the guest experience,” said Kings COO Leo Fonseca. “We thought it might be a nice addition to this room to put some more fun interactive stuff in here.” Fonseca explained that the room was previously known as the Draft Room because of its beer selection and sports-viewing atmosphere. “We’ve always had this space here,” Fonseca said. “It was previously known as the draft room because we’ve got a multitude of beers on draft and great screens for watching games.”

The redesigned room now creates a more open social environment where guests can move freely between games, dining areas, and bowling lanes. The update also reflects growing demand for hands-on entertainment experiences across Middle Tennessee. Among the attractions are two Krazy Darts systems. Fonseca described the game as “the tech-driven version of darts on steroids.” He explained that automatic scoring and moving targets make the game more interactive. “It’s really a super fun way to play darts,” Fonseca said. “Even if you don’t like darts, people love it.”

Fonseca also admitted the games have sparked friendly competition among staff members. “Our VP of Operations, Jon Tosi, and I are both hyper-competitive people,” he said. “No matter which games we play, it usually becomes competitive. But we often gravitate toward Krazy Darts.” The redesigned game room arrives as experiential entertainment continues growing throughout the region. More venues now focus on activities encouraging social interaction and group experiences. Kings Franklin’s update reflects those gaming trends while maintaining the venue’s entertainment-centered identity.

Bowling remains the centerpiece of the Kings Franklin experience. Unlike traditional bowling alleys, Kings incorporates interactive technology, animated graphics, and alternative game formats. These additions help make bowling approachable for every age and skill level. The 10-pin setup includes themed animations, customizable scoring options, and specialty games for larger groups.

Guests can still bowl traditional games during visits. However, many visitors gravitate toward interactive formats like Low Ball, Odd & Duck, Last Pin Standing, and Battle on the Lanes. Some games reward fewer pins knocked down during each frame. Others transform bowling into digital competitions between teams.

Kings also offers “Mad Games” for children and casual bowlers. Character Factory allows players to build animated avatars during gameplay. Battle on the Lanes creates a castle-themed competition between teams. These additions make bowling less intimidating for beginners while adding variety for experienced players.

Families can reserve lanes for birthday parties, school breaks, or weekend outings without needing previous bowling experience.

The venue remains especially popular during weekends and holidays. Many families spend several hours rotating between bowling, arcade games, and dining areas. Guests can also order food and drinks directly from the bowling lanes, allowing groups to continue playing without interruption.

Parents also appreciate the venue’s flexibility during busy weekends. Walk-ins are welcome, although reservations are encouraged during peak hours. Kings Franklin also remains fully wheelchair and ADA accessible, with ramps, wide entrances, and accessible restrooms throughout the property. The combination of food, games, and gathering spaces under one roof continues driving repeat visits from local families.

Kings Franklin has steadily expanded its arcade and gaming attractions over the years. The updated arcade combines nostalgic games with newer attractions, creating a mix that appeals to both younger visitors and adults revisiting childhood favorites.

Popular attractions include Mario Kart, Air Hockey, Space Invaders, Double Shot Basketball, and Skee Ball. Guests can also play giant Jenga, Connect Four, and billiards while relaxing in nearby lounge areas. The setup encourages guests to move throughout the venue instead of remaining confined to one activity.

Billiards remains especially popular among adults visiting for nightlife and social gatherings. Another feature separating Kings Franklin from similar venues is The Whiskey Room Live. The intimate venue hosts live music, DJs, karaoke, and entertainment events throughout the year. Fonseca described the hidden venue as having “almost a speakeasy vibe.” He explained that many guests initially overlook the performance space. “People don’t know what’s back there,” Fonseca said. “But when you get in there, it’s really cool.”

The Whiskey Room seats approximately 118 guests and includes professional lighting and sound systems. Guests can order food and drinks while watching performances, creating a more immersive entertainment experience. The venue also supports Franklin’s growing local music scene. While Nashville dominates conversations about Middle Tennessee entertainment, Franklin continues building its own smaller live music destinations.

Fonseca said many performers also play downtown Nashville venues. “We get a lot of the same acts and talent that play downtown,” he explained. “But they play out here in Franklin too.” Many visitors begin the evening with bowling or dinner before transitioning into live music later at night. That multi-option experience helps Kings remain competitive within Williamson County’s growing nightlife market.

Food and drinks remain central to the Kings Franklin experience. The venue serves burgers, pizzas, appetizers, cocktails, and beer selections designed for group dining and social gatherings. Guests can order food directly from bowling lanes or nearby lounge areas. HDTVs and projection screens throughout the building also attract sports fans during football season, March Madness, and championship games.

The sports-viewing atmosphere helps bridge the gap between entertainment venue and sports bar. Many guests arrive to watch games before transitioning into bowling, billiards, or arcade activities later in the evening. The cocktail menu also contributes to Kings’ nightlife appeal. Creative drinks, local beers, and shareable cocktails encourage a more social atmosphere during evenings and weekends.

Members will also receive a T-shirt, while personalized mugs will be stored behind the bar for easy access on future visits.

Guests enrolled in the program will be able to order draft beer directly into their personalized mugs.
